Easy Camping Breakfast Ideas
When you’re on a camping trip, some days you need something easy to make for breakfast so you can get an early start to the activity planned for the day.
I’m always on the lookout for breakfast ideas for RV camping because it’s our favorite meal at the campground!
One way to facilitate this is to plan out your camping meals and prepare some breakfasts at home that you can freeze and then just throw together once at the campground.
Some of our favorite camping breakfast ideas use simple ingredients that make easy breakfasts and make delicious breakfasts as well. After all, Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
This Make-Ahead Camping Meal Planner is what I use to plan out my meals for each trip. By planning our camping breakfast food, I know which days we will need easy camping breakfasts and which days we can sit back and relax to make our traditional breakfast camping recipes we love.
Either way, a camp breakfast is something we look forward to when we’re RV camping!
Make Ahead Camping Breakfast Ideas
One of our favorite make-ahead breakfasts while camping is Eggs in a Muffin Tin. These can be made at home and put in the RV freezer until you’re ready to use.
Then just pop them in the microwave to make an easy camping breakfast!
How To Make Eggs In Muffin Tins
What You Will Need:
- Veggies you love: spinach, peppers, onions, broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes, mushrooms
- Sausage, bacon, ham, or turkey
- Eggs (for the number of people cooking for)
- 12-cup Muffin tin
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Cook the vegetables until tender
- Lightly grease the muffin tin (use non-stick spray)
- Cook meat (sausage, bacon, ham, turkey) until crips & drain
- Beat eggs in a large bowl
- Stir in veggies & meat
- Spoon 1/3 egg mixture into each muffin tin
- Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes until set.
Egg Omelet
Like the Eggs in a Muffin Tin, an Egg Omelet can be full of protein to help start your day!
Pro Tip: Mix your eggs at home and put the egg mixture into a clean milk jug, a clean coffee creamer carton, or even a large Ziplock plastic bag Then you can just pull the eggs from your RV refrigerator or camping cooler to pour them into the skillet!
What You Need:
- Eggs
- Bacon, ham, turkey
- Any vegetables you love – onions, peppers, spinach, asparagus, tomatoes, mushrooms
- Shredded cheese
Directions:
- Cook bacon/ham/turkey – set aside
- In a separate pan, cook vegetables until tender
- Beat eggs in a separate bowl (unless mixed at home)
- When vegetables are tender, add eggs to the pan
- Add shredded cheese to one side
- Cook eggs until firm, then flip one side of the eggs over to the other side
- Press lightly on the egg to help melt the cheese
Sometimes we just don’t feel like eggs – but we do love bacon! That’s when a BLT is on the menu!
BLT’s
What You Need:
- Bacon
- Bread
- Tomato
- Lettuce
- Mayo
Directions:
- Cook bacon (or use pre-cooked bacon), drain, and set aside
- Toast bread in a toaster or on a griddle or you can use a piece of tin foil and place it on the grill over a campfire
- Layer toast, lettuce, tomato, mayo & bacon
- Enjoy!
Pro-Tip! Use pre-cooked bacon for an easy way to cook your bacon. Also, pre-wash your lettuce and tomatoes before you leave home so all you have to do is to pull them out of the RV refrigerator or camp cooker and slice them!
No-Cook Camping Breakfast Ideas
When we’re eager to get to the hiking trail or are just exploring the area, sometimes we have a light breakfast that’s quick and easy to make at the campground, or we even take it with us to eat on the road.
One of our favorite on-the-road breakfasts is a mini-bagel with ham or turkey. I make these at home, wrap them in foil, and put them in the camping cooler for later.
We bring several different-sized coolers with us when we’re camping – one for the front of the truck and a larger one we pull out at the campsite. Sometimes we might bring a mid-sized cooler to keep in the truck for day trips we have planned which will hold more drinks and sandwiches than our smaller cooler.
Anyway, back to our mini-bagels…
These mini-bagel breakfast sandwiches are perfect for those early morning leave times and I can hand them to my husband when he gets hungry!
I like to toast the bagel first, then add the meat. Depending on the meat I use, I add mustard, mayo, or Chick-Fil-a Sauce!
We also love hard-boiled eggs. I can make these at home in my Egg Cooker, which makes six (6) eggs at a time.
We also take the egg cooker with us on the road so we can make more eggs at the campground.
Other no-cook camping breakfast ideas:
- Yogurt, Greek Yogurt with sunflower seeds or chia seeds

These breakfast ideas are perfect to cook on the grill. We find that by using both our Blackstone Griddle and Weber Grill we are able to cook a lot of food at one time so no one has to wait for breakfast!
Bacon comes out nice and crisp by putting down foil on our Weber Grill while we cook hashbrowns, sausages, pancakes, French toast, or whatever is on the menu that day on our Blackstone Griddle.
Sometimes, however, if it’s just my husband and me, or we’re just staying one night at a campground, we won’t pull out the Blackstone Grill. He will cook the bacon on the Weber grill and I cook the scrambled eggs in the frying pan on the stove in the RV.
Either way, we think it makes a yummy and easy camping breakfast for two!
Pro-Tip: Here’s how to properly clean & season your Blackstone Griddle so you’re ready to cook on your next camping trip!
