The Best RV Accessories

My husband had always wanted an RV.  We actually looked at RVs for almost two years before we actually purchased one and started traveling.

All I can say after camping for the past three years is –

It was one of the BEST decisions we ever made.

Here is my post What Do You Do When Your Husband Turns 50? You Buy A Travel Trailer! about how and why we got our first trailer!

After our first season camping, I put together a list of 20 Must-Haves For New RVers

This comprehensive list will help new RVers with what doesn’t come with their brand new trailer!

Now we are ready for our fifth season of camping and I want ALL the nifty items I saw all the other campers have!

So I’ve put together a list of 10 Ultimate Wish List Items For Your Favorite RVer!

Top RV Must-Haves For Camping

The first one on MY list that I can’t wait to get is the Blackstone Tabletop Griddle.

The only problem is which size to get…the 17″ or the 22″?

Although most of the time when we go camping it’s just my husband and me, sometimes our entire family comes and I want to be sure to have enough room to cook for everyone!

When we first started camping all I kept seeing were the other campers cooking outside for breakfast.

Eggs, sausage, bacon…yummmmm.

We could smell it as we sat outside with our coffee.  We tried to cook eggs in my cast iron skillet over our Weber grill, but it just didn’t work.

Inside, I would cook eggs, hash browns, sausage…but longed for the outdoor flat grill I saw everyone using.

After doing a little research, I found most people were using the Blackstone Tabletop Griddle

It seems perfect for cooking burgers, hot dogs, steaks, stir fry, sautéing mushrooms and onions, bacon, eggs, hash browns, pancakes, and anything else you want to cook!

We chose the 17″ Blackstone Tabletop Griddle and LOVE it!

It even comes with a very nice carry bag & cover!

We’ve had our Blackstone Griddle for five (5) seasons now, and it STILL works great!!

You can read more about what we cooked on our griddle in my blog post 5 New Favorite Must-Haves To Take RV Camping

I get asked all the time how it compares to electric griddles, WeberQ (which we also use) and I have to say…you see how there’s no grease on the griddle for the bacon?

THAT’s just how much I love it!

Get Comfy At The Campground

The next Awesome item I’ve seen campers have recently is the Solo Stove Bonfire

What’s so awesome about this item is that it has less smoke so your clothes won’t smell!

I know…sometimes that’s what you love about the campfire.

The Solo Stove Bonfire uses a circulating system that fuels the flame creating less smoke.

Have you seen this item? It’s the LevelMate Pro Bluetooth Vehicle Leveling System!

This device works with RVs, Travel Trailers, and 5th wheels.

Just download the app from your phone or tablet.

As you pull into each potential site, the app displays how level the site is. LevelMate Pro Bluetooth Vehicle Leveling System!

My next Camping Wish List item is a Screen Room.  While I love camping…sometimes I can’t deal with the bugs!

Plus I love to sit out in the rain and this Quick Set Escape Shelter is perfect!

But be sure to check your campground rules before putting one up.

We’ve stayed at a few places where you weren’t allowed any type of pop-up tent!

Plus…you can get the wind panels with windows to go along with it!

Countertop Ice Maker

For our next Ultimate Camping Accessories idea…instead of asking the campground to keep bringing you ice…why not get a countertop ice maker!

This ice maker will have ice cubes ready in 6 minutes!  The way we go through the ice at the campground – I think it’s worth it! Awesomeness!! countertop ice maker!

Have you seen these great pots and pans? They’re NESTED!

Designed especially for RVs these 10 Piece Gourmet Nesting Stainless Steel Cookware Set will all fit into one!

What a space saver!

The next item on my Wish List is an Instant Pot

EVERYONE is talking about it!  I just haven’t gotten one yet!  This thing does it all!

The next item on my Wish List is a Furrion Wireless High-Speed RV Observation System with Mounting Bracket.

Sometimes it can be very stressful being new RVers and backing into your site?

While my husband has really gotten the hang of backing into sites – even tight ones – this will definitely help!

You can purchase either Furrion’s backup camera or the observation system.

The observation system is on all the time and the backup camera is only on when backing up.

Safe RV Travel

The next item on my Wish List is the Garmin RV 770.

We also travel with our good ‘ole atlas, but this year we are venturing out even further with our travel trailer and would really like this Garmin for RV.

What’s good about this Garmin is that it provides custom RV routing based on the size and weight of your RV or trailer.

The last item on my Wish List is a cordless stick vacuum.  This Dirt Devil cordless stick vacuum has good reviews for what I am looking for plus it is good for pet hair which…for those that follow me, you know we go camping with our Golden Retriever, Buddy.

And if you know Goldens…they shed everywhere!

Here’s a post I wrote about RV Travel With Your Dog. A list of Must-Haves while camping with our Golden Retriever Buddy!

Anyway, while we went in and out of the trailer last year, all we kept saying was…we gotta get a little vacuum!

I think this one will do the trick!

  1. Thank you for you list.
I wanted to tell you this is our first year RV’ing full time with brief stops home to see the granddaughter. The ice maker is the first thing we got. I thought it was just a “nice to have” addition but we’ve come to the realization it’s been the most essential part of our rig. I use many ice bags a day and also have to have lots of ice to satisfy my ice habit. Making ice bags was doable but now I just drink the ice after it melts and refill my bag. I also don’t have to wonder if I’m going to have Sonic ice fo my habit. It’s been my favorite thing.

  2. My husband and I bought our motorhome 13 years ago and we LOVE camping! We live in Washington and have traveled to many western states, but found that we prefer a remote little State Park that’s roughly 100 miles away. The one thing that I can’t live without is my Instant Pot! I cook up several batches of diced potatoes and refrigerate them in ziplock bags. They make wonderful breakfast potatoes (on our Camp Chef 3 burner camp stove with the two burner griddle. Yes, bacon, eggs and potatoes on the same griddle. So that’s my #2 and #3 items that we can’t be without in the RV.

    1. Mmmmm sounds so good! We now have the Blackstone Griddle but I haven’t gotten the Instant Pot yet! That’s a great tip to cook up the batches and put them in ziplock bags! Sometimes the little campgrounds are the best! Happy Camping! Thanks for your tips!

  3. We have the Garmin RV770 and absolutely love it. No more finding a parking lot to turn around in because an underpass is too low for us or a road is too narrow. Sometimes it takes us a little out of our way – but we don’t care; it just makes for another adventure!
The countertop ice maker was one of our first purchases and I thought my husband was being frivolous … not anymore. We’ve saved money on ice and not having to take up room in the refrigerator for our drinks that we want cold (pop, wine) has been wonderful. And then there’s “First-Aid Ice” – we have it!
My next treat is going to be the cordless vacuum. The corded one we have now isn’t very strong and the cord is a pain to re-wrap.

  4. We love our adventures in our fifth wheel RV for over 5 years now in Texas & have similar items you mentioned here on your list but still need the countertop ice maker! I’d really like one that makes ice like Sonic! I’m needing a replacement outdoor rug in a very large size—any recommendations? Needs to be one that can be folded for storage when not in use. Thanks!

    1. Hi Rose! You aren’t kidding about needing an ice maker like Sonic! We go through so much ice when we travel that we are moving the ice maker to the top of that Wish List! When you think about how quickly the ice melts and then you run to the store to buy more…the ice maker will definitely pay for itself in no time!

Happy Camping and THANKS for stopping by!
